“Tulsa Time” ~ NYC, July 2009

It was our first and, so far, only time ever playing the song.

Kevin and I were just settling into our room at our favorite Manhattan hotel, when he broke out the acoustic guitar. After ten hours on the road, we always need a little time to recuperate before heading out on the town.

I was playing around on Facebook on the laptop and mentioned we were playing music in NYC, and a friend asked if we were taking requests. Well, we hadn’t really thought about it, but, okay, we said, sure. We can do that.

We’d never played Don Williams‘ “Tulsa Time” before, together or separately, but we both remembered it from way back. So I found the lyrics, and Kevin picked out the chords. I recorded it on my HP Pavillion’s standard sound recorder program and uploaded it to my server as a WMA file. It’s converted here to MP3, but the quality’s about as good as it’s going to get. :)
